Rachel Maddow takes a look at the “JR-15,” a small, lightweight gun designed for use by small children, and company’s effort to appeal to little kids with their marketing. Illinois is hoping to ban such marketing over the objections of gun lobbyists, Rachel Maddow reports.

Look at it scream….. I’ll take 7
Every time I see one of these pieces warning us about the dangers of guns…. I…. suddenly get an urge to buy a gun!
Why would any adult put children's life's at risk by doing this? This will lead to more mass shootings 🔫 by children under the age of 18 years old. Any disagreements will lead to violence as the children with the JR-15 start to throw a tantrum that's resolved with shootings. We're creating home grown terrorists. Why? Why are we allowing these people to ruin our country due to their fears of losing a war that doesn't exist to begin with? 😐
I think it's great 👍
I think this is a great idea. Teaching kids at a young age to be responsible isnt such a bad thing. And stop saying its for babys. Quit with your garbage propoganda.
mad cow
Gun nuts are mental.
It's a 22lr gun that was designed to help teach children about guns, its not like a parent is just buying their kid that and letting them go play in the street with it. I would like to add it is still a normal sized gun since a rifle has to at least have a 16 inch barrel. It's no bigger than a henry 22lr
america is such a joke
Thanks for the ad, where can I buy one?
Why are guys just now targeting 22s that look like AR-15s? They’ve been around for awhile now, and you have done nothing except, for when this came up, a harmless 22. AR-15 promotion, which keep in mind 22lr rifles are mostly used for squirrel, teaching kids gun safety, and rarely self defense, the 22lr cartridge doesn’t have good penetrating abilities, and I think, it’s another case of tactical=scary
Nobody is above the second most important constitutional amendment in the Bill of Rights. If you don't like guns, you're free to leave the country. Have a wonderful day lol smfh
Why don't we have laws about how old, or how young is too young to handle a firearm??? Even with a parent's permission, you need a license to drive. With or without a parent's permission, you can't smoke cigarettes until you're 18. You can't drink alcohol until you're 21. And, as far as I know, you can't purchase a firearm until you're 18, at least in most states. But, we really, really need laws to protect children from firearms. This is beyond madness!
Anyway, she spending 10 minutes to tell news that take 10 seconds. 10 minutes of complaints. What kind of a journalist is this? What kind of a show is this?
I want one here in italy. Great idea as trainer for teen competition shooter
Jesusfuckinghchristonastick… Because that's exactly what we need, more kids with guns…
The gun manufacturer knows their insane base.
Anti guners: "Americans need to be responsible gun owners and should be required to train and learn gun safety"
Gun company: develops scaled down version of America's best selling firearm for parents to teach their kids how to properly handle one
Anti gunners: "No, not like that!"
WTAF 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Rachel has been covering this from day one. I smell a future best seller.
Illinoia violates 2nd amendment is more like it.
👀 UN-freakin' believable! Mortuaries? Get your orders for toddler-sized coffins in now. (*Caveat: I wrote this without watching the report; my blood pressure could barely take the headline.)
The stupid sheep inhabiting this youtube screed are remarkable in their lack of critical thinking ability and willful belief in propaganda that preaches to their limited intellectual capacity.
I just bought one for my kid. I hope this company is successful in their business.
You don't need a gun to defend youeself. If yall need a gun you are killing someone not defending yourself
The advertising on this is horrible judgment. As someone who is a second amendment supporter who hasn’t voted for a republican in the last four elections this is the problem. No one can get to a reasonable compromise on anything. I started shooting around eight years old. Had hunting rifles in my room at 14. Child size rifles are not a new thing. The difference is typically they are not advertised so they appear as a toy. That is what annoys me the most. My 10 year old has a BB gun. If she continues to show interest and responsible handling of it we can move on to a single shot rimfire. Blanket bans are unproductive, saying we need no changes to gun laws is also unproductive.
Awesome, every kid should know firearm safety as early as possible
This woman needs to leave the country.
Capitalism will be the death of America. Every branch of the government bows down to corporate greed! Anybody, with any sense, would be against this and it should be illegal. When I was a child, we played with Jarts (big darts that you would throw into the air to try to get it to stick in a circle on the ground), they were banned… for a reason. Now, it's okay to sell semi-automatic death machines made specifically for children. Any adult who buys one of these guns for one of their children should have child services called on them and their children should be taken away from them.
Pretty sure when James Madison proposed the 2nd Amendment, he didn't had school-shooting locos and JR-15 in mind.
well don't get your kid one then but leave other people alone
