YouTube has been a staple platform for uploading and watching videos for many years now. With over 2 billion active users, it’s no surprise that the platform has faced its fair share of controversies and changes over time. Recently, there have been rumors circulating about YouTube removing views and video post dates from its platform.
Many creators and users have reported that their view counts on videos have been decreasing, leading them to believe that YouTube is intentionally removing views. Some have also noticed that the post dates of videos are no longer visible, making it difficult to determine when a video was uploaded.
So, is YouTube really removing views and video post dates? The answer is not as clear-cut as it may seem. YouTube has not officially confirmed that they are removing views or post dates from videos. It is possible that the decrease in views could be due to a variety of reasons, such as a bug in the system or changes in the algorithm that affect view counts.
As for the video post dates, it is likely that this change is intentional on YouTube’s part. The platform has been making updates to its layout and design in recent months, and it is possible that they decided to remove post dates in order to create a more streamlined and visually appealing experience for users.
While it is understandable that creators may be concerned about the potential impact of these changes on their videos, it is important to remember that YouTube is a constantly evolving platform. Changes are bound to happen, and it is up to users to adapt and find ways to continue creating and sharing content.
If you are a creator who is worried about losing views or post dates on your videos, there are a few steps you can take to address these concerns. First, make sure to reach out to YouTube’s support team to inquire about any potential issues with your view counts. Additionally, you can keep track of your own analytics and engagement metrics to monitor the performance of your videos over time.
In conclusion, while there may be rumors circulating about YouTube removing views and video post dates, it is important to approach these claims with a level head. YouTube is constantly evolving, and changes are bound to happen. By staying informed and proactive, creators can continue to thrive on the platform and reach their audience effectively.
DEI at work
Im almost certain this is already live. I've been noticing that I can't see the age of video suggestions.
Youtube has been doing nothing but make mistakes for years
Most of yall didnât even watch until the end lmao
This just seems like another anti-Adblock move from YouTube
Hi got the extension for it, didn't work for all videos and even cause some videos not to play and flag me for malware….
Don't trust YouTube, there up to something and adding to the misinformation campaign.
Love how all the comments never made it to the end. YouTube is doing this to combat ad blocker extensions. Basically YouTube recognizes you have a ad blocker and since they Don't want to just ban you or try to waste resources trying to circumnavigate the blocker, just make it a inconvenience
Bro, what is that moustache? đ
I need dates and views, I have to troubleshoot tech shit all the time
Wow they just have a working thing and think "how could we possibly ruin this"? Its been like this for years too. Dislike removal did not help and made the likes irrelevant as well because the point was to compare dislikes with likes
Second you said "…shared an image on X" i knew this had to be bogus
Mouthpiece fell off
My phone did this for a few hours last week. I didn't like it.
Shocking!! Google blaming ad-blockers…
They need to bring back the dislike being seen
I watch youtube on the official app on my phone and no extensions, i dont know about dates and whatnot. But the new UI sucks, you can double click to the side of a video to jump 10 seconds either forward or backward, which helps to skip through small sections or to repeat a section if you missed something. Now the left hand of the screen is 80% full of stuff and you only have 20% of the screen to click to jump back a few seconds. Not to mention that i now will pause a video, and not be. Able to play it again, i will hit play and it just wont play. Ill have to exit the video, and reopen it and find where i was just to continue watching it. And swiping from the top of the screen on mobile shows the topbar of my phone with battery, time, notifications etc. Except now scrolling down from the top of the screen also takes me to a whole different video. And scrolling back takes me to the start of the video i was watching, causing me to have to find where i was in an hour long video. WTF is youtube even doing.
Ah. The glorious time for new platforms to rise.
âBrowser extensionsâ add blockers you mean?
âCertain browser extentionsâ could mean add blockers⌠I mean I hope Iâm wrong but at this point it honestly wouldnât surprise me
Fck YT
they had one fucking job, not to change shit
YouTube has been drinking the stupid juice lately
The new slider to adjust video play speed is awesome. Thatâs a good change for once.
Without dates⌠how can I âfollow to stay in the loop.â????
Donât want to be following something resolved ten years ago.
What's next no more Channel and it's purely clickbait
Personaly i dont care about how many views the viedeos have but i do care when i see a video of a channel i follow pop up and the first thing i look at is when was it relesed so i know if its a new vid or an old one
They seriously want to have zero information on the video. What is this supposed to do?
They hid the likes đ
It is not fake. I repeat, NOT FAKE. I can not access viewcounts or likes on videos anymore on my phone.
Dates must remain
In 10 years we're all going to have to blindly guess what a video is about man wtf
Sounds like they intentionally leaked it to see the reaction. Now that it has been confirmed that nobody would like these changes, they will definitely make these changes.
There was a point where the homepage only showed likes for me. Not sure if anyone else had that.
This is the first time i got kinda surprised somebody dropped the f bomb on a short they usually always censor it or just say some stupid word instead
Giving my 2 cents here. Dates are important for me because I sometimes need the newest information. Views on the other hand help me see if for example if that tech video helped a lot of people. I can select videos better that way.
If they do this I'm just gonna stop using this platform. What's the point of using a platform that is actively working its hardest to snatch a defeat from the jaws of victory.
âCertain browser extensionsâ (ad blocker)
"Certain browser extensions" I'm gonna bet they mean adblockers.
Sacrificing actual useful features in favour of achieving a "better look" is so youtube
and now new youtube mobile UI sucks
Already gone for me, likea as well…
"Is youtube about to make a horrible fuckin' decision?" Given their previous track record…yes.
