Greetings, and happy '22! You asked what we think about the brand vs. short videos. I totally agree that – especially with limited time and resources – Reels and Shorts are a generally a waste of time. I watch other people's, but I can't recall an instance when I watched one and clicked through to a person't business and bought from them. I guess this form keeps some brands top of mind, but I'd rather put my efforts into brand/promo/instructional videos. Thanks, Amanda!

It's the hardest job but is the most rewarding:) I am a local real estate agent the does alot of transactions every year but I would like to diversify and get off of the hamster wheel. You and I have talked before about my business model, selling digital patient education courses to doctors who give them to their patients for free. This video has gotten my wheels turning (again) about adding more revenue streams, since I'm very reliant on that single source. Based on some of what you say here, I'm thinking about getting on some calls with people on my email list to explore 1-on-1 coaching. I've had several requests for that but haven't pulled the trigger on it yet. It seems to me that these calls could help me 2 ways 1) I'll get a better understanding of what potential clients need/want from a call and 2) I could also use this information in developing a digital course that provides them exactly what they're seeking from a coaching call (but it takes less time on my part, at least AFTER I build the course).
Thank you for your insight on using marketing to grow your business including using You Tube, but with extra revenue streams. I also enjoyed watching your music hack video to sort out music for videos.
I've been involved in YouTube marketing for my business coming up on 1 year with about 45 videos so far. It's VERY clear to me that YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels are complete distractions for me, especially since I'm focused on business and attempting to use video to grow my revenue. I see a whole lot of porn performers, goofy, stupid comedy, and complete wastes of time in those short form videos. Long form video is absolutely the only thing I'll be focusing on.
Any thoughts on ever changing algorithms. How to keep up with the speed at which they keep making changes?
