I honestly enjoyed the variety of Assassin's Creed 3 (where I started at) to Origins (beginning of the Open world kinda games) but I do miss the story-driven part of the game more than anything in these games. While I enjoyed the side quests and little parts of Origins especially I will say AC 3 will always and forever be my favorite as the story is direct and while there's side stuff to do it's not like you need to do it.
Watch Dogs was a fun new series but I will say I liked the 1st a lot cause it was about revenge where the 2nd was fun to play and just focussed more on the entirety of 'ah we're DeadSec lets have fun'. I have yet to play Watch Dogs Legion though.
I feel like almost every RPG has gotten generic over time
I donโt get why people still hate on Arkham Knight still. The game is a masterpiece!
I would like to add gta online (excluding story mode as nothing has really changed about it since its release). The game series used to be grounded in reality and produce a story that was well like with some unique concepts and game mechanics. The online did well off when they kept to its standards but eventually it became more or less the same type of missions leaving players wanting more. With the futuristic vehicles (one being a copy off of saints row) and less focus on story and more on minor changes in gameplay, the game has kinda went bland. Although, i do hope that their next upcoming gta title helps fix the fix the issue so it is possible they can freshen up the series depending on the direction they take the next game in the series.
Mass Effect went from a sci fi rpg to just a generic action shooter.
Wait till you see the next gta
Havent watched yet but im calling it. Assassins creed.
Ah yes the first 2 Wolfenstein games
The ones that weren't even 3d
It's funny with Ghost Recon as I've played every title just about since Ghost Recon on the PS2 and have enjoyed them all the way through to Breakpoint. Nothing like the classics though. Ghost Recon, GR: Island Thunder and GR: JUngle Storm. Sometimes, with the older titles from the PS2 era I wish they'd remaster like those BUT keep the same gameplay and same mechanics just improve graphics and settings. Same for games like Timesplitters series' SHEW I need to nap LMAO
Watch Dogs could've been sooo much. ๐

Splinter Cell went from stealth/spy/infiltration to whatever it became with choose your own style gameplay. The use of motion capture and casting of a different voice actor also changed the tone of the franchise. The series even had a fake-out death of an important character, a death that originally drove some of the plot along. Conviction was part of the reason I ended up buying a 360.
You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
Nobody should let a franchise to go on for a long time.
What the hell what culture? I listened to 2 of your videos and you sold your souls. First go play fallout series again. Because the bullshit you pass of as a breakdown of the vaults is just crap. In this one you claim it's bugs and gameplay changes that caused flops ior identity crisis like your analysis of watchdogs. Claiming the second was more character driven. Those characters were flat woke Mary sues and destroyed all trust. Same as Wolfenstein young blood. The story took a backseat to propaganda.
Here from fortnite i want snoop dogg
I used to love Destiny 2's PvP because it felt unique with the mix of guns and abilities with the different classes. After they heavily nerfed the abilities because they said they wanted to focus more of the gunplay, I found its PvP starting to become less enjoyable and more generic. But maybe that's just me.
Fallout better be high on this list…
Not even on it? Okay. Fallout 4 started taking it into strange territory with all the focus on crafting a home base and then 76 Happened and we'd like to forget about it as much as possible. Hopefully whenever F5 comes to light, it wont try to be an MMO or a Fortnight substitute.
To be fair breakpoint did kinda of made a comback with the new immersive mode and the conquest dlc
I would say that Metal Gear Solid should be on this list as well. I known I initially purchased my Xbox to play this. Having grown up on the stream of corridor gameplay and the movie-within-the-game aspect of Metal Gear, I was a bit taken back by the setup of the open world. The game did not hold the same appeal as a whole.
Hated the Batmobile sections of Arkham Knight – stopped playing the game before even finishing the first Batmobile section. A shame, because Arkham City was so good.
the problem with any of these franchises isn't the games or the devs it's american capitolism
8. it's still "call of duty", but with extras. 6. it gets extremely boring dumping a whole clip just to kill one person in core multiplayer mode. 4. it's still not bad, but still decent even if bungie left. 2. youngblood was good, not too bad.
Hopefully AC returns back to its prime form๐ข Watch Dogs Legion had a good idea but ehhhhh๐
It's just like unique YouTube channels losing their identity due to YouTube's constantly changing and highly restrictive policies. It's ridiculous that you guys can't show videogame violence or gore anymore.
"how many ubisoft IP you want to include in this video?" Josh: "yes"
Tomb Raider belongs here as well!
3 Ubisoft games are in this list. Ubisoft is itself having an identity crisis.
Why the hell didn't you mention Fortnite!? Those crossover skins are getting too much and unnecessary!!
Can't do New Colossus, it's far too focused on 'MURICA' attitude and goes too far in the sci fi direction
Let be honest Halo had to change. Who even plays couch co-op or split screen. All of the hard core fans are old and only play an hour a day or maybe a week. 343 had to try and capture a new generation
Batman has had many suits in the comics of various power levels and he has built several powered exoskeletons.
So saying that his suit is like Iron Man's instead of Batman's is wrong, he has had suits like that before and many FAR more powerful.
I like the Watch Dogs series i don't even care.
See? I'm a weird gamer. I loved watch dogs 1 and was bored with watch dogs 2
I honestly want to know who is making these "executive decisions" at the top? Why do films and games of recent years feel so soulless?
While they have found their way back starting with Resi 7, Resident Evil should have been the poster child for this list
Got a feeling Final Fantasy will eventually end up as a completely action focused game.
Dead Space should be on this list. The first two games and the spinoff were single-player experiences focused on horror, claustrophobia and solitude. The third game in the series was a co-op cover shooter. And while you could play it in single-player you'd miss half of the story doing it this way. It was all so far off from what the originals were that it basically killed the franchise until the remake.
