In the world of marketing, understanding human psychology is key to successfully persuading people to buy your products or services. By tapping into certain psychological triggers, you can influence consumer behavior and increase your sales. Here are 15 psychological marketing triggers to make people buy from you:
1. Social proof: People are more likely to buy a product or service if they see that others are doing the same. Use customer testimonials, reviews, and social media posts to show that your offering is popular and trusted.
2. Scarcity: Creating a sense of urgency by highlighting limited stock or time-limited offers can motivate people to make a purchase before they miss out.
3. Authority: Position yourself as an expert in your field by sharing your knowledge and expertise. People are more likely to trust and buy from someone they perceive as an authority figure.
4. Reciprocity: By offering something of value for free, such as a free trial or sample, you can create a sense of obligation in customers to reciprocate by making a purchase.
5. Anchoring: Use price anchoring by showing a higher price before revealing the actual price of your product or service. This can make the actual price seem more reasonable and increase perceived value.
6. Fear of missing out (FOMO): Highlighting exclusive deals or limited-time offers can trigger people’s fear of missing out on a great opportunity, leading them to make a purchase.
7. Emotion: Appeal to people’s emotions by using storytelling, imagery, and language that evoke positive feelings. Emotional connections can lead to stronger buying decisions.
8. Trust: Build trust with your audience by being transparent, reliable, and consistent in your messaging. Trust is essential for converting potential customers into loyal buyers.
9. Authority bias: People tend to trust and follow the recommendations of authority figures. Use endorsements from experts, celebrities, or influencers to boost your credibility and persuade people to buy from you.
10. Priming: Create a positive first impression by priming customers with positive experiences, messages, or images before presenting your product or service. This can influence their perception and decision-making process.
11. Belongingness: Show how your product or service can fulfill people’s desire for connection and belonging. Highlighting a sense of community or shared values can motivate people to buy from you.
12. Cognitive dissonance: Help people justify their purchase decision by providing information and reasons that support their choice. This can reduce any feelings of uncertainty or regret after buying.
13. Authority bias: People tend to trust and follow the recommendations of authority figures. Use endorsements from experts, celebrities, or influencers to boost your credibility and persuade people to buy from you.
14. Loss aversion: Highlight the potential losses or missed opportunities that come from not purchasing your product or service. People are more motivated to avoid losses than to gain rewards.
15. Personalization: Tailor your marketing messages and offers to meet the individual needs and preferences of your target audience. Personalization can enhance the customer experience and increase the likelihood of a purchase.
By leveraging these psychological marketing triggers, you can effectively influence consumer behavior and drive sales for your business. Understanding the motivations and tendencies of your audience can help you create compelling campaigns that resonate with them and ultimately make them more likely to buy from you.

There definitely are some brands that use the FOMO effect so much that it DOES essentially end up being fake. Ie how there's ALWAYS a sale at Kohl's or on Temu, etc
As a graphics designer i think urgency and rececency will require efforts in creating content

Like this I was learning/researching Behavioural Science focused on Consumer Psychology too, read the books which were quite repetitive and started collecting the latest Research Papers. Organised it under each concept and decided to share the final work in audio/podcast format here. I learned 150 principles and concepts and thought others could skip the effort and just learn years worth of work podcast style. 👍
great
The way I know this guy is legit is by comparing what he's saying to actual ads that resonated with me, and every point he made was present in some way to ads that I enjoyed, like the bandwagon effect, the peltzman effect, compromise effect (especially on websites offering subscriptions or courses), and the halo effect to name a few

You should know them as a customer to avoid being sold to in an unethical way.

The cleanliness will enlighten all brother mind and heart ❤️❤️❤️
Pygmalion effect is also the reason lots of horrible people like that guy who was big in football and sexually assaulting kids for years make it their business to basically have a resume of alllll the “good” things they do for society. Because if/when any of that bad behavior of theirs starts coming out, people will be very resistant to it because of all of the “good” things they already know they’ve done. SANDUSKY! That was his name. And she’s just one example…now when I hear about all the “good” things people make sure everyone knows they do I am very suspect. As I should be!
